“I’d rather keep what I’m dealing with to myself and make sure other people around me are good.”

“I do my best to make myself comfortable everywhere I go. So I mean, to other people it could seem like I'm a people pleaser. But If you’re not useful, you're useless.

I have gotten to the point where I realize that because I'm so quick to ask other people how they're doing, it puts me in a place where I don't want to put my situation on other people. I'd rather just keep what I'm dealing with to myself and just make sure that other people around me are good.

Even though sometimes I have my moments where I'm just like, "Dang." Because when you have those moments where you're about to self-destruct, you want somebody to be there. But because I’ve made it so that other people don't really have to– or feel like they have to– check on you, I guess that’s the problem. I have people that care about me, of course I do. But sometimes I don’t go out of my way to open up to them– because I don't want to be a burden. That's the one thing I don't want to be.

I want to make sure other people are good. I never really check in with myself. I realize that's not the best thing to do. And I guess I'm learning that a lot now.”
